A Sunrise Journey
by Michael Doyle
Clouds hang high in the morning sky
As if painted for the poet's eye
There's a journey undertaken by the heart
Where the holiest of holy finds its start
Like a seagull traveling light on its journey
A soul travels reaching for its destiny
The questions begin with, "Why can't I?"
If only faster, or farther, or maybe just how high
We accept the limits that we are given
Blinded until we learn to see and be forgiven
Living for our dreams beyond what we know
Or all is lived for nothing but it's constant flow
Can you be greater?... somehow a bit more?
Taken wings as you bravely soar
Nothing to worry about but to simply try
Maybe it's okay to spread your wings and fly...
