Godly Thoughts

Godly thoughts are so full of power
Richer than those we think are ours
What we think about focuses control
That gives direction to our souls

Garbage in becomes garbage out
To be confident or filled with doubt
What we focus on becomes our ways
That we will live throughout our days

We must always seek the ways above
Filled with God's truth and living love
If we are to live in our best resilience
We must live in godly obedience

Baptized in the spirit of God above
Our minds are best filled with Godly love
Walking away from earthly idolatry 
That becomes the path of human depravity

It is right to live for what we need
But not immorality and selfish greed
We must put aside that which doesn't fit
Finding patience through the Holy Spirit

This begins in establishing our relationship
With the God above that we worship
We self-define how we perceive
Forming our own world as best we can conceive

Negative tapes play as if they are true
But are nothing but a falsely felt skew
We must remove ourselves from the bad
If we are to live our best lives that can be had

Living with ourselves and with all the others
The Gospel only fails to unseeing sisters and brothers
Satan blinds the minds of the unbelievers
The Serpent is the greatest of all deceivers

It isn't just about sin and wanton desire
There is discipline and out of control fire
Self-indulgence can overcome rightful pleasure
All good things come in their good measure

Your mind decides what you will come to think
Rather within the Holy Spirit or on the brink
Indwelling as a helper from inside we will live
Right in our walking or hoping that God will forgive
