It Comes Down To...
by Michael Doyle

It comes down to right responsibility
Sown thoughts reaped within our capability
To become the character of our destiny
Though unseen thoughts might disrupt our journey

God thinks highly of us and so should we
Our thoughts determine who we will be
The consequences are up to our own control
By the choices we make for the good of our souls

Change your life by how it is you perceive
As products of choices as we choose to believe
Asking impactful questions over where we'll be lead
Wondering where we'll get to in our heads

Composing our thoughts as spiritually acceptable
Protecting our inner lives guided by what is scriptural
The spirit of God guides our best reality
Built up or torn down in our spirituality

We must think on where our thoughts originate
Before we allow these to become on what we fixate
If thoughts cause guilt and are perhaps depraved
We should push back to the thoughts that have saved

From the sense of being our best instead of doing bad
And wisely seeking the path we should have had
As followers of Jesus, and choosing what will fit
As a healthy choice as appropriately lead by the Holy Spirit

We are the Church and are to be kept separate
Within God's love and not as some persons desperate
Instead led by our Godly walk toward greater purity
Constructive, not destructive, in our integrity

There is a firm line between love and lust
And with it comes the consequences which must trust
Love is the path of God and not the ways of worldly lust
We know this and wait as we know that we must

Love is selfless and not the selfishness to be
Destructive as the price of right-minded responsibility
There is no free love, it's just an absurdity of lies
Not something given but a sin that causes us to die

Lust is the destroyer of all that we might choose to be
Love is peace and lust creates our path of anxiety
We must choose God's counsel if we want peace in our life
