Walking With Inner Peace

Peace is more than an idea or feeling
It is a gift of God constantly revealing
Given to all who walk in His ways
It fills our hearts throughout our days

God provides this peace adequately
For all to live joyfully and with full potency
Practically daily, we find their full measure
In the peace and trust lived as our treasure

Accepting our faith in our blessed salvation
Given through Christ as our destination
Surrendering our sins and knowing we are forgiven
Is the moment that we are free to be truly living

We find peace in God's absolute sovereignty 
Knowing that we are safe and kept in our dignity
This removes all fear and feelings of anxiety
Despite the overwhelming sense of this world's complexity

All that happens is according to God's plan
This truth is the same for every woman and man
In the eventuality, God's plans always prevail
Bringing us to Heaven to keep us from Hell

Trusting in the Lord provides abundance enough
As we place our value on right things and not stuff
It isn't a matter of simply hoping for the best
But trust enough in God, and He'll do the rest

This peace is God's gift to us all
Provided by God in the truest response and call
The promises that God makes, He always keeps
The price is easy enough and not so very steep

In keeping these practices as a spiritual science
It is important we walk with a clear conscience
This takes us from the daily war that rages
Across the disobedience that writes our life's pages

Peace comes as we accept who it is we truly are
God's gifts us differently as the twinkles in the stars
We must surrender to and for the best of our souls
Being someone else is entirely out of our control

Some may try to do it their own willful way
But that path doesn't travel well or pay
It is better to ask God what it is that is His intention
Then to swim against the tide and in the wrong direction

Living with a sense of purpose and in His promises
Keeps us from the plague of alienation and emptiness
We are God's workmanship and the children of His creation
In return, we should give this our best dedication

Our hearts can only be filled with Jesus's presence
To believe otherwise is simply spiritual negligence
The closer we walk with God, the more we feel peace
Not longer enslaved by this world but given release

The more we use God's gifts, we will gain competency
Over all the things that bring feelings of inadequacy 
Step-by-step we gain our way to heavenly victory
As we live up to God's true sufficiency

Living this is to live up to our best testimony
Playing our best parts intended for you and for me
This is to walk in the Lord's peace as meant to be
That is to say, peace comes by being who we are meant to be

This brings us to the place for which we most long
That restful space where it is that we most truly belong
The world's rejection brings pain that hurts our souls
Yet, the Cross let's us know who is really in control

It is ours to decide if we will walk in true obedience
That pace that will always bring our true competence
It begins with our surrender of self to true humility
Knowing that God's love is the whole of holy theology
