I'm Growing Through It
by Michael Doyle
Every day brings the miracles that we pray
In peace and calmness as we stay
Collected in the Church of His holy name
We trust in God to remain the same
Wisdom is shown when we pay attention
To the growth in our own tension
Going through the growth that is needed
With every word of God being heeded
Letting proper stewardship be our measure
Letting Godliness be the Church's treasure
Though we live under worldly domination
It is God's path that will restore our nation
The Lord is the Creator of all that is seen
The entire universe is His, even human beings
Though we painfully wrestle with Godly questions
We embrace this theology without hesitation
With clumsy falls into God's given opportunity
We walk our journey with our best pass at integrity
Serving the Lord's will fits like an easy yoke
The truth found in this is no foolish joke
The shared community of faith is something beautiful
With its questions that bring us something wonderful
To the real dealt that each of us deeply lives
Through the faith and the mercy that God gives
There is nothing to which God is not aware
He sees all, knows all, and gives us His care
Attentive to our lives in every possible way
As He is present in every moment of our days
The eyes of God are on every hedgerow sparrow
Even when we are down to the skinny of our narrow
God remains available for us all
Only awaiting on our souls to humbly call
The finished work of God was completed on the cross
To our family's gain and without a loss
We don't need to slug it out on our own
Because God is able and we're never alone
We fix too often on negativity instead of blessing
Too often caught up our anxiety and second guessing
We need to dust off our feebled realization
That the Creator comes to make our needed connection
Those who wait on the Lord find renewed strength
Regaining breath as our lives are lived at length
There are times that we will spiritually soar
And yet other times, we're only hoping for more
That's when we need to run and not be weary
Keeping Satan at bay and being leery
Of being misled as we slow to a needed stroll
Resting on the Rock to keep our forward roll
When it comes to God, there's no shame to pace
And all we encounter should be faced with grace
To take on the load of that uneasy road
It is the tension of attention is Biblically foretold
We lean into the space of godly relationship
As we enter together into our house of worship
This is the theological experience of process
That brings us to our greatest point of access
Literal and literary in our holy understanding
Boxed-in feelings can be too demanding
This is the path walked as we integrate to grow
In finding God together for the best lives we can know
