Standing Together

Whimberly 2022 - Standing In A Field of Pollen
Standing Together
by Michael Doyle

In the face of recent brutality
It's hard to remain in our humanity
But lean-in we must in accountability
Here in the last days to our best ability

God calls for us to be bold
Putting aside timidity, since the days of old
Believers must rise up for what we believe
And help others not to be deceived

We must stand together as one community
Knowing that we are joined as family
With joined hands linked throughout
God's community brings faith, not doubt

In open prayer, we affirm our belief
Finding joy despite reasons for grief
To honor God, we must live in trust
Extending our faith, as we surely must
