In This Dance
by Michael Doyle
Even rivers know to ramble slowly
The end comes soon enough
If in the end, this world knows me
Someday, that will be enough
In the interrupted dream shades of the night
I wander alone through this twilight
Breathless as the thoughts I reminisce
My destiny had been met with a sweet kiss
Yet, in all the tears that are now felt
It is the love of life that causes us to melt
Breaking down the walls built of acrid ice
It's a God-given chance that rolls the dice
Even rivers know to ramble slowly
Pronouncing that the end comes soon enough
Toward that end, it seems the world knows me
And in this, I have found enough
It is easy then to fall under the spell
Of the sort of magic that compels
Us to take that moment's chance
Offering my hand to lead you in this dance
Wasn't it easy enough to find this spell
Enchanting as a sort of magic that compels
Each of us to take the risk and chance
As we lead each other through this dance
Even rivers know to ramble slowly
Ambling past the bridge to find just enough
That in the end, the world has come to know me
And in this end, I find that is just enough
