Righteousness In Political Graces

Bella's Lullaby - Lighthouse On Goose Island
Righteousness In Political Graces
by Michael Doyle

Some leave God in the cradle of His birth
Though He's shown us His love and worth
Some have left God hanging on the cross
But that's only to their sorrow and loss

It's the rolling of the stone and empty tomb
In which we find ourselves the grace and room
Of growing through the knowing God's true love
And learning to best walk as if led from above

Many haven't minded breaking the social graces
In giving life her all in their profound traces
Such is the promise of the King's celebration
That the fragrances were poured on in jubilation

Life comes at us, as it does, with its distractions
In all its deeds, misdeeds, and in all actions
While the Lord reigns above us as supreme
Above the lesser kings who try to rob us of our dreams

In all of God's great and holy goodness and in His grace
Our faith impacts our lives led and the politics we embrace
Finding His will amidst the plurality of all humanity
We must choose wisely and face our days graced with humility
