A Redemption Song

Holiday Hill - Bonfire
A Redemption Song
by Michael Doyle

They harked the herald
As the angels began to sing
Spreading the good news
In the joy they dared to bring

On the night of the first Noel
With the shepherds in the field
The angels began to tell the tale
Of mercy mild when evil began to fail

Christmas had come
As a babe in the manger was born
In fulfilling the kingdom
Evil was faced down, and redemption borne

Blessings came with the season
To fulfill God's Word to us all
Providing love and the reason
We praise is we joyously recall

All that has been done
In our holy contemplation
In the name of God, the Spirit, and the Son
In bringing our redemption
