Ways of Life Previously Chosen

Ways of Life Previously Chosen
by Michael Doyle

Eating smoked salmon and in contemplation
About what will be the fate of my nation
I will let no untruths be varnished or told
But insist on telling how history did unfold

I have watched the destruction of American power
Begun in the forced weakness begun in Obama's hours
Deliberately jeopardizing our allies' flexibility
As an open mic caught Obama promising elected capability

ACA did not bring universal care or affordability
But instead, the highest premiums in our modern history
While purposefully doubling debt and weakening the military
I watched as Obama greenlighted rising Islamic militancy

We have forgotten that America is based on assimilation
That it is the rule of law that created this nation
This and other ideas need to be taught once again
Those are the urgent priorities that I openly contend

The biggest gang in America is the Deep State
It's game is theft, and Kleptocracy might be our fate
It's not accidental, but open extortionate conspiracy
The con is factual, actual, and not the fringe's theory

The truth laid bare is the Democratic Party instills fear
While quietly stealing America, and it's quite clear
Bureaucracy sneaks through the crevices in aspiration
To sell a bill of goods to the people of our great nation

The pitch sold is the Democrat's love for the people
It is the creed preached at their marbled steeple
But what do we find by looking back in actual history
It is that they are instead complicit in the people's misery

The pitch is social justice in an appearance of equality
These are feints for pathways to illusory equal opportunity
Only in the last few years has this been traded for equity
It is the lie that a fair life ends the same for you and me

Somehow, Lincoln's portrait is displayed by the DNC
That one takes great license as evidenced by history
Lincoln fathered the Republicans to end slavery
And who then started the Democrats, and what is their legacy?

Jefferson's Democratic-Republicans split into two
The one faction Republican and the other Democratic in view
Jackson rose to the White House in a breach of destiny
Killing Native Americans as he stole their lands as his legacy

Selling it to the common man, as long as that meant White
The Trail of Tears was resisted by Republicans as was right
Frelinghuysen stood along side Crockett and the Supreme Court
Yet, could not stop Indian Removal from the East and North

Tocqueville witnessed this broody and savage destruction
Feeling as he did this was a catastrophic dysfunction
From the Hermitage, Jackson supported slavery's cruelty
Jackson and his Democrats have a distinct place in history

His Calhoun spoke of the nobility and good of slavery
As they sought to extend its growth in American history
While Douglas and Brooks; North and South; were vehement
In the belief that slavery should remain as permanent

Slavery is theft as economical and sexual plunder
That deprives much from those shackled there under
While the enslaved suffered under Democrats South and North
It took the Civil War to restore this people's worth

Only the Democrats had owned slaves profiting from this trial
The price paid in blood and tears made the nation spiral
Until trading lives to restore freedom to our darker brothers
Exchanging the lashes of the whip for sword to free these others

This then was the price paid to move toward equality
Not the equity of theft, but a legacy of open opportunity
For men and women judged on their merits as understood
And a nation stumbled its way that was freer and good

The modern Democrats try to excuse away this blight
Turning the focus on the 1960s and the fable of civil rights
While with sleight of hand draw a curtain of deliberate illusion
Sowing over the Civil Rights Movement of the 1860s in confusion

The 1960s fight for all it's exploitive bells and lights
Was merely a spotlight of dance shadowing the very real fight
As the 1860s secured through war and put into the Bill of Rights
The 13th through 15th Amendments remain in very clear sight

Moreover, far more Republicans than Democrats voted
For the 1960s Civil Rights Act as should be loudly noted
As modern Democrats steal credit for a Republican Act
While stolen credit is treated as not evidenced in fact

The promised 40 Acres and a Mule has never been delivered
Even as the Democrats filibustered, America's soul shivered
Don't believe the untrue promises of equal opportunity
As set out as a Democratic standard; nor the lies of equity

It Should be remembered in the vote for the 13th Amendment
77% of Democrats still wanted slavery to remain permanent
Every Democrat voted against the 14th Amendment's equal rights
Stick that in your guide for social justice highlights

Every Democrat voted against the 15th Amendment's equality
In a vain attempt to block the right to vote inadequately
So much for the Democratic false flag of equivalency
All black people should remember this on Election Day's knee

Women also have been confused on who gave the right to vote
It was passed by the Republicans as all suffragettes would note
It's the Republicans for equal rights, and against slavery
The Democrats are historically the party with the tainted legacy

My opposing listeners will have to simply pardon me
For dredging up the truth, however inconveniently
This election year sees our American at a cross road
And I'll stand up in the front with real history being told

The ways of life chosen in our not so distant past
Tell of America's legacy, and need known before votes are cast
Let us choose freedom, liberty, and rule of law
To ensure this; let's make sure that real history is recalled
