Signaled Purity

The Promise - Moon Shine Crescent
Signaled Purity
by Michael Doyle

The future is dark with obscurity
Filled as it is with so much uncertainty

The song of love will prevail
As the rains and winds outside swell

You can promise happiness and never know
The fortunes that will come and go

Like a bride carried over the threshold
Praying for absolution to quietly unfold

White is worn to signal purity
Even when none is to be found
It tells its tale of morality
Like Prometheus unbound

Like feet that find their way
Though night divides the day

There are eyes that seek and find
All the past thought left behind

Words are fully spoken in expression
Of feelings no longer trapped by repression

Which monstrosity is there to be embraced
In all the ugliness that must be found

White is worn to signal purity
Even when none is to be found
It tells its tale of morality
Like Prometheus left unbound
