I wish all the mothers out there the happiest and holiest Mother’s Day! This is your day that God and this nation have set aside to honor all it means to be a mother. Thank you for making that choice!

For those of us who have already lost our mothers, trust that I earnestly feel your pain. I miss my mom today very much. I had a dream about her last night. It was more like a memory. I remember and dreamt about being so young I was barely able to stand and my mom feeding me some apple sauce from a giant light brown bowl decorated with some simple blue trim. What I remember most is that overwhelming feeling of love and warmth and the certainty that my world was safe and wonderful and that my sister and I were deeply loved by our mother.
