Your Mother’s Love Is Lying

Your Mother's Love Is Lying
by Michael Doyle

There is so much assumed as basic fact
And from these, we choose how to react
Accuracy is important from our conception
You'd be surprised at the level of deception

As with these things lending toward ready detection
There is a script that provides strong indication
If a mother is asked, deception can likely result
Should you and I take this as an intended insult?

I don't want to leave you sad and crying
But Coyote AI says your momma is lying
When she says her love for you is true
AI doesn't lie, so maybe please take the clue

The new polygraph is as accurate as 93 percent
One has to wonder at the uses and the intent
Anything we can do, you know a company will do
And this adage is the same truism for me and you

In this dog-eat-dog world of detecting lies
Everyone wrongly assumes the truth is in the eyes
Such wrong insights have created bad decisions
Mostly due to the coin-flip level imprecisions

I don't want to leave you sad and crying
But Coyote AI says your momma is lying
When she says her love for you is true
AI doesn't lie, so maybe, please take the clue

The whole trouble comes down to its complicity
With guilt being mistaken for feeling anxiety
All of our best guesses at this lack of duplication
And become poster children for pseudo-replication

There is no real leakage in the "leakage" in detail
It's the facts that are needed to be close to real
To reach 'alpha' we reach for language clues
It's the best bet we have to dig in or pay our dues

I don't want to leave you sad and crying
But Coyote AI says your momma is lying
When she says her love for you is true
AI doesn't lie, so maybe, please take the clue

Algorithms don't need psychology to reveal lies
There's the dog-ness of the steady gaze of eyes
The theories inform that deception is hard to call
But given time and exposure the best will recall

We flag forward to signal need for future inquiry
But the mistakes made most certainly cause injury
False positives democratize this art of lie detection
Assuring only one sure result, this needs correction

Lying is seen as essential in our social interactions
Absent the lies, privacy would cause the detractions
To outweigh the gains that are given by any device
And this should be avoided, is the sound advice

I don't want to leave you sad and crying
But Coyote AI says your momma is lying
When she says her love for you is true
AI doesn't lie, so maybe, please take the clue
