So Begins Hope

So Begins Hope
by Michael Doyle

So begins hope for a golden age
We stand as we turn our page
Vowing in integrity to quench our thirst
Step by step, we'll make America first

As exceptional as America's past success
Truth in challenges is sought in tests
As we work to reestablish our trust
Of every pillar we believe in as we must

In the face of ongoing tragedy
We must join hands to fortify our country
Restoration of our honor and promise
Has come be faithfully reclaimed without compromise

An assassin's bullet would not stop the fight
To make America great again and bring light
Filled with hope that America will be great again
We walk in God's glory and away from mortal sin

Joined as one nation to make dreams come true
All America's people run faithfully red, white, and blue
Hands linked together, we begin our restoration
And vow to restore sense and honor to our great nation

A country's borders define its future
Truth and justice are what will nurture
Now has come the ending of wanton crimes
As we return to safety and freedom in our time

There is perhaps no greater danger to test our nation
Than the poverty brought on by bad policies and inflation
Instead of experiencing the end of our beloved country
We will seek and find ways to repair our economy

In what will be an excellent reach
The moment has come again for free speech
These thoughts will sharpen as they compete
And as we come together in merit for every seat

Speaking candidly and without much inhibition
The resounding call comes to support our ambition
From freedom to live as we want and choose our cars
To the establishment of the American presence on Mars

The impossible is that "what" that we do best
Forged and built and meant to pass every test
No obstacle will crush our country's civic pride
As we march on to feel and reach the other side
