Our defiant spirit makes America proud. We have more faith than we should be allowed. It wasn't passing time that shaped us into being. Our visionaries forced us into always seeing
The shapes of things to come for our nation Were led by our pioneers through rich exploration. It was our rugged, inventive persistence Through which we willed ourselves into existence.
What makes America great is not the past, The best of America are things that last. This nation was built through audacity. The same strength will carve out this century.
From the wilderness, we forged our civilization, Spreading across a continent to become our nation. Lady Fortune smiled on a people who would self-rule, This was the stuff of freedom and liberty's school.
The wolves of Wall Street brought barbarians to the gate. Banging on the walls, they crashed and almost sealed our fate. The instinct of finance was to risk, conquer, and compete. It nearly brought us to a bankrupt ruin at debt's feet.
To turn this back, we need to rebuild our fabled industry, Securing commerce to turn back aggression by our capacity. Free markets spawned to improve other nations' economies But all that bred was our loss and stronger enemies.
Globalized trade and finance did not end the rivalry, And there has been no such end to the ways of history. We discovered this crossroads of our age's choice, We join together through tariffs to speak liberty's voice.
It is time to reestablish balance to protect our country, It's time to care less about protecting the global community. We will focus instead on first principles and philosophy, As we leverage our way into the annals of lasting history.
An aligned industrial base brings about our prosperity. This, in turn, brings us a just peace and then our security. Steady hands lead us to dare to do more than idealize, It's time for America and her allies to reindustrialize.
We must now insist on ourselves as masters of this game, Daring to be the crucible of our world's thunder and flame. With heads held high, we will be known wherever we go, As the descendants of our ancestors from a century ago.

Heading out of Australia to escape this Aussie winter. First stop Japan, then UK/Ireland and if work doesn't call me back, onto Chicago. I will make it up as I go along
