Positivity In Action

Positivity In Action
by Michael Doyle

This evening, as I took myself on a hike,
I put my mind toward what I do and don't like.
Deciding to take the course of satisfaction,
I have decided to put positivity into action.

I will set new limits and keep that commitment.
It seems the surest way to my contentment.
I will remember to break free from my comfort zone,
And in so doing, open my embrace to the unknown.

Strong thought put out into the universe
Will be the guiding light that leads my verse
As I live my life in peace more than notoriety
And keep myself well-intended in my dignity.

My lifetime adventure is meant for me to learn
The right and wrong things, and from these, discern
The shape I was intended for at the potter's hand,
And from these patterns, I will come to understand

That fear of the "this and that" of life's harshness
Has kept me from exploring in the coming darkness.
But it is through the darkness that my light finds purpose,
And from this, I will finally find my intended service.

The hour grows late, and each step takes determination.
If I am to keep focused, aspiration becomes true motivation.
I roll on in tribute to all the sense of right changes,
The seconds of the hour whisper what needs rearranging.

This then becomes the substance of a mindful attitude.
I have learned that the best life is one lived in gratitude.
Tonight's steps were the baby steps toward my final destination.
In this, then, I find more than a little needed inspiration.
