Sometimes there is thunder in a perfect mind. There in that place we have left behind. We wonder why it is that we all can't walk away. We're still mesmerized by the songs they used to play.
Every note listened to seemed to fall into place, Perfect as they were when in their cosmic embrace. Rested heads know the paths of our inner dreams, As if played out between the silence and chaos of the screams.
There were no complaints about the roar. A touch of rock met a gin and tonic pour. Somehow, the people came together as if they knew. The roots had grown when Rock went to school.
Riff after riff added up to a song, In that place, trains rolled all night long. A singular voice pierced the night in extended range, And what came together was heavenly framed.
There was something there beyond the next level, Where Mr. Bones outdanced the best of the Devil. The magic filled the evening's misty air With the bass drum stomp and rattled snare.
There were no complaints about the roar. A touch of rock met a gin and tonic pour. Somehow, the people came together as if they knew. The roots had grown when Rock went to school.
So it came with an intro to the band. The music was the master, taking its command. Treated to the magic that we knew, We knew it would be Rock's tale coming true.
This was the way they wanted to live, As they gave all they had to freely give. Bleeding every note into 12-bar Rock'n'Roll. The sound bled from every pore of their souls.
There were no complaints about the roar. A touch of rock met a gin and tonic pour. Somehow, the people came together as if they knew. The roots had grown when Rock went to school.
There in those days, they played the truth. The boys in the band outgrew their youth. The sounds vibrated like a welcome friend That would never come to a natural end.
The kings had come to take their thrones, Playing twice as hard as the Rolling Stones. All the musical colors came to flow together, As the once Yardbirds became next level better.

Heading out of Australia to escape this Aussie winter. First stop Japan, then UK/Ireland and if work doesn't call me back, onto Chicago. I will make it up as I go along
