Victory Stride

Victory Stride
by Michael Doyle

When Jesus called my name
His gospel I came to proclaim.
Broken chains gave me my freedom
And now I serve His kingdom.

I had been lost in the harshness
Wanting to outpower the darkness.
But I finally got it right
When I walked into the light.

A wretched soul, He did save
When he pulled me from my grave.
Heavy sins held me down in my pride,
And now I walk that victory stride.

I found I was unworthy alone.
I had a strong need to atone.
I lost my focus on mere survival
When I awoke to God's arrival.

Finally, I found my worth as I walked
All the ways of righteousness I had talked.
His love came to tear up the dark veil.
Now my soul belongs to Him and not to Hell.

A wretched soul, He did save
When he pulled me from my grave.
Heavy sins held me down in my pride,
And now I walk that victory stride.
