The Joy of Repentance

The Joy of Repentance
by Michael Doyle

We are thankful for time together.
We know the Word makes life better.
Joy, peace, and hope add up to adoration.
That gives this time, its fascination.

Each of us would love to employ
Those things that bring every day joy.
Music brings us a bit of sunshine
That makes the modern church, yours and mine.

Isaac Watts converted the Psalms onto his page
So that each song anticipated the coming age.
With every note that we sing,
We open our hearts before our heavenly king.

Incarnation opens all to vulnerability.
This is true of al regardless of capability.
The Second Coming will be something permanent.
This is predicted in every twinkle in the firmament.

A joyful noise is hear throughout creation.
It will be heard without cessation.
Every heart must and will prepare Him room,
With the light of God removing all gloom.

In the beginning, the Word was there.
So, why would any man have cause to fear?
The world is is rescued from infernal night,
And is filled with the Lord's holy light.

It is ours to accept or reject God's love,
In choosing sanctified life from above.
We must accept or reject God's warning,
Becoming one with God's family n our new morning.

This life has no room for circumspection,
Jesus is or isn't the truth of our resurrection
Our joy is found in our sanctification.
It is found reigning over all of creation.

The truth can come across harsh and loud.
It has a way of thinning out the crowd.
Joy can only come when we are able to tender
The sum of ourselves in total surrender.

It comes down to our human acceptance,
That our joy is predicated on our repentance.
Turning away from our erroneous ways,
To find ourselves spent in our better days.

We fin ourselves turning away from the wrong
To find the truth and give in to where we belong.
The truth of this, we find with abundant grace.
We find this in God and in His joy that we embrace.

Jesus, is the way, the truth, and the light.
It's only in finding Him that we become right.
In all love, there is only truthful way.
God gave His only begotten son that we might be this okay.

Our invitation isn't to simply worship.
It is to from with God the right relationship.
We bridged this gap on the cross at Calvary
When God sanctified Himself and gave us eternity.

The God of wonders works inside our hearts.
He has done so since creation's start.
God see us and delivers us as we are,
No matter if we need to travel near or far.
