Revival At the National Prayer Breakfast

Revival At the National Prayer Breakfast
by Michael Doyle

Not too presidential to fear Hell,
Trump keeps this part of our nation's tale.
As revealed at the National Prayer Breakfast,
President Trump supports faith, first and last.

Achievements stack on his proverbial shelf,
Trump's record is open for itself.
Except that the Left likes to talk it down,
Never guessing that they look like clowns.

A straight opening with politics is his line.
The president's Christianity differs from mine.
Still, I am aware of all the good that he's done,
And he actively protects believers in the Son.

With rugged integrity toward enemy and friend,
This tussle of a president protects and defends.
No doubt, Christianity is America's legacy.
We are made by our Creator to live in liberty.

From our dear and very pristine Declaration,
We find ourselves bonded to God in this nation.
This is the fundamental truth we must give
In teaching our youth how they are to live.

Faith and freedom are and have been necessary.
There is nothing in our Founders' words to the contrary.
The Bible is popular and spreading like wildfire again,
We know we are living in a revival for our sacred friend.

To be and stay a great country, we must believe.
It is a necessity for the blessings that we receive.
Law and order depend on restraint and belief.
Clamping down on trouble only gains so much relief.

Recounting success, Churches are free to speak.
The Johnson Amendment is all but repealed in this streak.
Our nation has the right to speak and express our beliefs,
And President Trump keeps pushing our rights without grief.

Now across the face of our great nation,
President Trump has called for our nation's redemption.
In many ways, we are reviving the power of prayer.
God's presence and power are everywhere.
