Father of His Country

The Left, in its lack of need for rationalism,
Hate President Trump for his nationalism.
This may explain why they took Washington's birthday,
But it doesn't really matter anyhow or way.

The fact is, Washington is the father of this country,
And as a matter of history, it is to be treated with dignity.
When our young nation needed his guiding light,
Washington's good character is what proved to be right.

The Left doesn't realize we are a republic, not a democracy.
Maybe this is why they don't understand Washington's legacy.
Time and again, they work against America's founding creed,
Mistaking slavery for liberty, and Marxism for being freed.

America's interests were key to Washington's statesmanship.
Everything else was a matter of right and good relationship.
Americans are to have and hold common affection and sympathy.
The national interest rests in the cause of Godly liberty.

As a matter of policy and the protection of freedom's thirst,
America's first policy should be to hold our country first.
The invisible hand of the economy must be kept resplendent.
That is, of course, if America were to remain independent.

Humanity's soul depends on the honor of our national pride.
While modernity depends on peace first in our stride,
History shows no success in going against human nature.
We simply do not have the power to so reshape our culture.

National pride is not only empirical but a moral fact.
It is the natural force on which nations base their acts.
It is a matter of respect readily in history's evidence,
Understanding this avails itself of the laws of Providence.

The revolution protected individual rights and our dignity.
Honor, glory, and happiness provides the path of our country.
The Articles of Confederation led to a state of humiliation.
This made the proposed Constitution necessary for our nation.

Our independent republic depended on the needed ratification.
Achieving this made Washington the Father of our new nation.
Moral agency and universalism conspired to form this nation.
All these elements were needed and not just an abstraction.

Today, the far Left seeks to dismantle by deconstruction,
All that makes our nation great, including our Constitution.
Love of country is not a moral or intellectual mistake. 
Our America is worthy of devotion and is not built to break.
