Praying Love Is Blind

Praying That Love Is Blind
by Michael Doyle

Falling in true love,
It comes hard and fast.
How do you know it's real love?
You pray that it will last.

You find the one
That will help you make a home.
And you know that the quest is done,
You'll never be alone.

We've focused on ourselves
Clinging to what's to be left behind.
A value added to ourselves,
We pray that love is blind.

We open ourselves to the unseen,
Hoping to connect with our human being.
We love without condition precedent,
And we pray true love will become resident.

I know that we are only at the beginning,
But I wish to know our final ending.
Please let this be the real thing,
I want to grab love's brass ring.

We've focused on ourselves
Clinging to what's to be left behind.
A value added to ourselves,
We pray that love is blind.

This love is deeper than physical attraction.
The way you move me is my fatal distraction.
It's the you inside that speaks to me.
That's the fire that sparks me divinely.

Partnering with my ride and die,
Leaves no room for wondering why.
Will you be my forever and stay?
I never want a woman like you to go away.

We've focused on ourselves
Clinging to what's to be left behind.
A value added to ourselves,
We pray that love is blind.
