State of the Union 2026

The state of this union
Might be described as anxiety
From taxes to war, there is complexity,
But at the heart of most is affordability.

Trade, tariffs, and the economy, 
Are the subjects contested most bitterly.
As introductions are customarily made,
Both sides in opposition walk as if slightly frayed.

Each politician postures their electability,
Troubling the voters, asserting their inevitability.
Fractious and contesting every negotiation.
Neither side is willing to budge toward cooperation.

The president enters in a whirlwind  of handshakes,
Smiling at this henhouse full of snakes.
Determined as he is to make his way,
It's the People's business, he'll attend to today.

Our nation is back from the brink, better than before
As we move on, our aim is set to 250 years more.
The time has come to live our nation's golden years,
Rising above a crisis caused by an autopen's tears.

We are cognizant of our turmoil and transformation
As we rise out of an abyss and back to being our nation.
We take our forward steps in emboldened by contemplation,
And again, we have become a respected and secure nation.

Our leaders are secure that what we're doing is legal,
Above us, we watch the flight of the American eagle.
An economy grows when we lessen the chains of inflation.
This is how we correct the course of our great nation.

This and the end of critical race theory and DEI,
Along with cutting policy and regulation explains why
We are again coming over to the winning side.
Wee glow our gold with All-American pride.

Hockey's dream team played it fast and clean,
Allowing us all to close our eyes and dream.
The best of the best passed the Olympic test,
And now our athletes stand above the rest.

The spirit of 1776 continues to show through,
As we rise to our tired, unbeaten feet with more to do.
The honoring of our men and women in the services,
Keeps us aware that we are serving our purposes.

Protecting the people's place in our economy
Is the path to our nation's true recovery.
Program after program has been put into place.
These steps are necessary to keep our nation at pace.

Securing our borders for each Angel Family
Is a matter of our nation's safety and security.
We must remember this in every vote taken,
Closing our borders to illegal aliens is not mistaken.

The first duty of our government is the protection
Of the American people for the good of our nation.
Illegal aliens must not take any form of precedent
Over the classes of people who are legal residents.

Our nation has turned back, embracing Christianity,
Embracing righteousness over transgendered vanity.
Our nation is and will remain under God,
And we reject political violence as ugly and odd.

Law and order needs to be restored,
Turning a blind eye is not something we can afford.
And so it is that we must make our nation's stand.
We must honor and keep safety across our land.

We stand for security for America inside and outside.
No one in this world gets over or a free ride.
Be it gangsters on the street or governments at large,
If they want to mess around, they'll find out who is n charge.

Two hundred fifty years in our great country's life,
We have lived for peace and confronted all forms of strife.
This has been the story of American Pride.
This is the legacy of America taken in full stride.
