Deliverance On Palm Sunday 2026

Deliverance On Palm Sunday 2026
by Michael Doyle

On Palm Sunday, as is habitual
We take part in the communion ritual.
The covenant inside is made in remembrance,
That we may walk Holy Week without hindrance.

A million things cause our distraction.
We should repent of this in renewed fascination.
The elements remind us of what we are given.
We are especially blessed in being forgiven.

The resurrection gives to us undeserved
The blessings of the God we've served.
This is our witness of gratitude
As we take these elements with the right attitude.

Jesus came to Jerusalem in victory
Establishing Israel's place in history
The Messiah arrived on the back of a donkey
To Hosana cries and palm branches of mystery.

Some in Jerusalem feel this is to be rejected,
Though everything done was as it was predicted.
Pontius Pilate approached his execution
Though there was no valid reason for His persecution.

The truth in the scriptures is told
Even how Pontius erroneously rolled.
But per the Bible's prediction,
Jesus went to atone for man through crucifixion.

Jesus lived and gave His life for the truth,
Confirmed from the first days of His youth.
It is in reliance on God's wisdom
That is the baseline of His holy kingdom.

Our lives are made better through the right values.
This message is very hard to misconstrue.
It is often a matter of choosing the right priority,
And will remain so for all of human history.

The best that we have for the right instruction
Is to depend on The Word in its full construction.
Building up the world per the ways of godly ministry
However, watered down, we can walk in His divinity.

All of us sinners fall short of God's glory,
But God's grace is the fullness of His story.
All to provide us His path of love and grace,
And it will deliver us to Heaven's embrace.
