Probability and History
Probability and History

The past indicates the probability,
And the rest, as they say, is history.
We learn these things with humility.
The passing days become our legacy.
The mercantile types take life without any need.
The wise take this into account and pay heed.
It's bad luck to act with greed,
But what does this mean to those who can't read?
Reading the words tattooed on the subway walls,
They stand out more than the neon signs call.
Warning us all that the facade will possibly crumble,
If we allow ourselves to be led by those who stumble.
All the signs were there and grimly bearing down.
The captain's bravado made him look like a clown.
Leftist fools are bragging that they've paid the cost.
But they are only half aware of all that they've lost.
There is no use in protesting feigned innocence,
When the price paid comes from insolence.
Mercantile companies were too used to ceding victory,
And too lazy to hazard a thought of a reversal of history.
It's a blessing to have dreams come true,
Whether it comes by land or on the ocean blue.
The brash will not heed the wisest warning,
Though often times, we find this leads to mourning.

Fullness of Love
Fullness of Love

In a fullness of love,
Given to us from God above.
We are given our freedom
As we live in His kingdom.
At the sound of His name,
We are lifted from all shame.
His Love removes the stain,
And we are declared not guilty of blame.
We know just where we have been,
Back in the days we lived in sin.
We won't backslide to there again,
Once was enough for where we've been.
Anchored by His holy song,
We know we are loved and understood.
We trust our love where we belong,
Walking our faith where others have stood.
Side by side, we are accountable
To do all righteousness we are capable.
Love, then, is our true measure.
What is done for the least is our treasure.
We know just where we have been,
Back in the days we lived in sin.
We won't backslide to there again,
Once was enough for where we've been.
We know that some learned the hard way.
Consider the self as Exhibit A.
There were times we were scared to live.
But in the God-shine, we've learned to give.
Hindsight will never really let us go,
Not in plain sight of truth's flow.
We have learned this in our repentance
While letting go of our reluctance.
We know just where we have been,
Back in the days we lived in sin.

America Unbroken
America Unbroken

Time comes at us with brutality,
Not caring at all about our humanity.
Every second comes with its own rush.
The weakest of us feels the crush.
Cutting through the skin to the inside,
Until it takes every part of our pride.
That's life in all of its complexity.
Still, some wonder why others have anxiety.
It's been twenty-four long years.
It's funny how time flies and then disappears.
The Twin Towers collapsed and fell down,
Leaving travesty and devastation all around.
Amateur hour pushed us off our pedestal,
Then they found out that we will fight and are able.
We found out that some disputes can go on forever.
And that sometimes we must be increasingly clever.
Some of this world's most irritating frictions
Are based on misconceptions and needless fictions.
These have been around for many thousands of years.
It is the strategy of a war that never disappears.
It's been twenty-four long years.
It's funny how time flies and then disappears.
The Twin Towers collapsed and fell down,
Leaving travesty and devastation all around.
We Americans, maybe we are too young to know.
It will take some time for us to grow.
It's tough to let some things go,
And I suppose these are our pains as we grow.
We'll find our way to get along,
And our enemies will learn we are American strong.
Along life's wounded and drawn-out road,
There are so many future stories to be told.
It's been twenty-four long years.
It's funny how time flies and then disappears.
The Twin Towers collapsed and fell down,
Leaving travesty and devastation all around.
We promised to always remember.
And so we do, every September.
The business of violence is getting old.
Our nation has new dreams to be told.
September 11, 2001, changed America forever.
Still, it seems that it's more than clever
To keep our patriotism for America unbroken,
And this love for our nation continues to be spoken.
