Thought For the Day: One of the Basic Rules of the Universe Is That Nothing Is Perfect. Perfection Simply Doesn’t Exist….Without Imperfection, Neither You Nor I Would Exist

“One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn’t exist…..Without imperfection, neither you nor I would exist.” – Stephen Hawking

Holy Is My God’s Name

Holy Is My God's Name
by Michael Doyle

Holy is my God's name
His wonders erase my blame
He descended among us on His arrival
To bring humanity to our survival

His abundance gives us all
Here together we heed His call
Yahweh's mercy is shown
No greater love is known

Ages have passed in veneration
AS we have worshipped for generations
Blessed by a walk into freedom
Given to us by His holy kingdom

Give to each is His inspiration
To live life in His creation
Declared as the greatest of powers
God's name fills our numbered hours

Up into Heaven's unending skies
We hear the angels' cries
As infinite as you are holy
I am surprised that you love and know me

Facing Death Boldly

Facing Death Boldly
by Michael Doyle

Facing death is one thing
Watching the death of your men
That hurts more than anything
It burns like the second mortal sin

Cold and hungry in the night
A target was seen in every light
You never forget the death seen
It takes away part of a human being

Tears rolled down his face
As his mind touched the traces
Of memories about the war fought
Some things are never forgot

The best nights are spent dreamless
So that the images are seen as if seamless
It takes away a man's breath
To have seen so much useless death

Pulled to the breaking point's line
Praying to walk on these emotional landmines
Inching forward in his silent advance
He lies, barely breathing, somewhere in France

If You’re Going To Stay

If You're Going To Stay
by Michael Doyle

Despite the world's distractions
We hear the clarion call for action
There is much to be done
If this battle is to be won

Each side fights to stay on top
In and endless cycle that never stops
It doesn't matter, wrong or right
Most are here just to stay in the fight

If you're going to stay, then stay
If you're not, then just runaway
If you stay, then things must change
The dominos on the table rearrange

Bringing this as if the madness grows
This is the mystery of how it goes
A bullet finds its home in the flesh
Lord knows, how it got to be this mess

Dog-eat-dog, the world knows
In the rules of this game of shadows
A hammer to the head leaves you just as dead
As the loose lips sinking ships as it's said

If you're going to stay, then stay
If you're not, then just runaway
If you stay, then things must change
The dominos on the table rearrange

Bleeding out on the basement floor
Is something a little hard to ignore
There's a lot of pain that's felt
Over all the blood that's been spilt

Morbidity has head its erosion
Like the poison pen of the worse corrosion
My confidence is dented by your conception
That I'd be any part of this world's deceptions

If you're going to stay, then stay
If you're not, then just runaway
If you stay, then things must change
The dominos on the table rearrange
