In Humility Walked

In Humility Walked
by Michael Doyle

The gap between us and eternity
Is spanned through the Holy Trinity
Unified and whole to dispel hostility
The transition is made in our theology

The anchor has been set in place
The spiritual transformation we embrace
Must be guarded against spiritual manipulation
And having forgotten our heavenly inspiration

From the beginning, all was set in place
With the king's ransom, we are set at pace
Given life for death, taken sin with grace
The truth of this is written in God's holy face

Redemption is given to mankind, and the Holy Spirit seals
The spiritual transformation in our proven deal
We belong to Christ as His for God's chosen kingdom
Ready for all else that is yet to come

There in the life beyond this earth's grave
Harmonized as Jesus came to heal and save
We are to use our lives to come into conformity
It's a matter of character development and enormity

Walking this world with tender humility
Life is to be lived with complete integrity
From this springs our splendid generosity
This bond of peace keeps us from irreligiosity

This is to live as if we are worthy of our calling
In a sinful world that is perpetually falling
It is a faith journey with behavior shaped by belief
This is the truth that gives us joy, not grief

Lived out, we find a struggle in definition
We are called as individuals for our own resolution
But created as we are to become what we are for
This is the key of God's will that opens the door

Discovering God's words to determine God's ways
To learn how best to live out His will for our days
We work at mastering the basics and learning we are aeam
The body of Christ is truly living united in this dream

Living worthy is the way of fulfilling this amazing grace
Unworthy as we were, we're cleansed by God's embrace
As children of God, we each must find our perfected fit
We grow into this through fruits of the Holy Spirit

Gentleness is a strange kind of toughness
To move beyond on the measure of roughness
We value unity in our struggled miles
Each challenge faced with joy and a loving smile

We Christians are one body in God's love
We do our best to follow Heaven above
It's a living celebration of our community
However dysfunctional, we love our family

Christ's cause is bigger than the part we play
Blow by blow, we fold our hearts as we pray
Into the one faith and one sacred baptism
The Second Adam faced chaos with His optimism

It is only through Christ's lasting perfection
That faith is all that is needed for the detection
That we hold strong to the beliefs that are well-heeded
We love that case that has been well-pleaded

Anchored by the one hope that we hold in our walk
Our knowledge and behaviors become one in our talk
Speaking truth is love we grow into and nurture
It's what is needed to build humanity's better future

We are not simply consumers but produce
To be equipped for what we are to reproduce
It is by this we learn to come to thrive
And through Christ, we become fully alive

Putting off all but truth and true love
Helpful as it is meant from above
All along we know we're on a magnificent journey
Together we will help each other to our destinies

We love this life that is quite providential
It is up to each of us to live up to our potential
As we do, we live each moment with amazing grace
Finding God's love to delicately live and embrace

Thought For the Day: When You Leave This Earth, You Can Take With You Nothing That You Have Received – Only What You Have Given: A Full Heart, Enriched By Honest Service, Love, Sacrifice and Courage

Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received – only what you have given: a full heart, enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage.– St. Francis of Assisi

First Principles: There Is One Body and One Spirit, Just As You Were Called To One Hope When You were Called; One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism

” There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” – Ephesians 4:4-6

Madison On Government

Madison On Government
by Michael Doyle

Troubled times seem to be surrounding
With more demons than angels abounding
Madison found this reason for government
I don't see any real further improvement

The truth remains that government is power
With tiny tyrants clutching at their hour
Big words do not make for better philosophy
This thought seems to constantly claw at me

Despite advancing science and information
We still struggle for freedom in this nation
Some folks argue with enforced silence
Others offer up their extreme violence

Only a few seem to take the time to hear
What our fellow citizens hope and fear
Most only want to get their own sense of way
With their intolerance always on display

It seems our republic has been taken from within
Those protesting this only appear now and then
And when they do, they are quickly shouted down
It seems any moment, tyranny will wear its crown

We have the standing army and enslaved press
Add a disarmed populace, and we will have a mess
We can see what the tyrannizers seek to organize
We see it before our eyes for all to recognize

While the Left seeks to win their total revolution
Others hold tight to this republic's Constitution
Both sides would do much better if they'd recall
Madison said this nation was founded on God's laws

Dinkʼinesh

Dinkʼinesh
by Michael Doyle

In mankind's efforts to stand upright
Turning from darkness toward the light
We've contended a few bones along the way
Just enough really for the right to say

From tree dwelling to learning to walk
On two legs, we became positioned to talk
Chipped bones became a confused religiosity
As the faithful unfold their humanity

Still, we wonder at all the tales told
While the wisest wink at beliefs sold
Knowing the cross-stitched pieces of wood
Could have built an ark where it stood

All in making bones of mankind's dignity
Much of our story is simply legendary
Stories told are made to fit the history
Made up with leaps of fancy to fill in the mystery

Marvelous Lucy, she learned to walk
As footprints stepped into the story we talk
Each step telling how mankind came to be
While whispers reveal this fable's complexity

Impossible monsters lost in a sea of chaos
Pave the road home through humanity's loss
In the chains of changes that map the consequence
As some find God's place is one of obsolescence

Bishop books were said to be replaced by dinosaur bones
While God and angels were removed from thrones
And now as the twenty-first century has fallen apart
We learn once again we need God to have a whole heart

Haunted by our darkness, we are lost, yet not lost
As with every moment we painfully pay the hidden costs
Of turning our backs to truth by playing our own gods
The holy persons and repentant sinners both this odd

Glassy eyes stared into the abyss and shamefully found
Society's transformation couldn't have been more profound
Throwing away age-old truth based on half-missing fragments
Waiting on judgment day, we know these simple sentiments

Thought For the Day: The Only Advice Anybody Can Give Is, If You Wanna Be A Writer, Keep Writing. And Read All You Can, Read Everything

First Principles: A Democracy Is A Volcano Which Conceals the Fiery Materials of Its Own Destruction. These Will Produce an Eruption and Carry Desolation In Their Way

“A democracy is a volcano which conceals the fiery materials of its own destruction.  These will produce an eruption and carry desolation in their way.” – Fisher Ames

I really dislike when I hear any American political leader mislead the public into believing we live in a “democracy”. We live in a republic under the rule of law.

All the Wicked Men (A Dickinson Poem For Peace)

All the Wicked Men
by Michael Doyle

So many times I have searched for peace
Looking for peace in the faraway
All the wicked men – have thoughts of war
As the Centre of their Maps –

Myself a struggled slacker- set out to prove
That it’s not so hopeless as I –
If only we let go of greed for foreign shores –
And stay in the safe harbors of love
