To that love in your soul
When your passion gives up control
Even when you feel down and out
This is the only thing you can't doubt

You feel your love from the inside
In that special place, you yearn and cannot hide
When cold and dark are closing in
You wake in the morning to love again

Believe

Just hold on
A little bit stronger

Sometimes, you feel alone and afraid
Eyes wide open, you recount the plans made
You hold on to that bit of happiness
Afraid that there is something you might miss

A love song plays on the radio
And you wonder if you should let go
The tears from your eyes roll down your cheek
And you find yourself not wanting to speak

Believe

A little bit stronger

You cry alone into the moonlight
Feeling you've fought your best fight
You feel the echoes in your bones
Praying to God that you're not alone

Holding on to the image of that someone you love

Separate Lives

What we know is so little
And we're feeling stuck in the middle
It's said that is a perfect score
For life; we still want more

Playing chutes and ladders in the corporate
From the outside, it seems something desperate
There's some room for improvement
In these things posing for accomplishments

If you had to fit your life into a category
The best game might be something like Scattergories
White walls with no sense of picket fences
Gives credence to what passes for the evidence

The microdata suggests it is an empty consignment
In this workaday world, it needs replacement
Every question asked invades your privacy 
It all comes down to what passes for company policy

We'd love to talk about piracy
But in the management, it's not about honesty
In corporations, it might be suggested that friends
Are often little more than a means to the ends

The world becomes a great divide
Whether you'll love this, only you can decide
Of all the things that corporations have mandated
This rule is that lives must be kept separated 

A new life begins with question one
We'll be finished when we are done
It's all as the manual states
Informal chatting will have to wait

They're just hard to see
In this world gone blind

Emptiness Revealed

Momma says, "kneel and pray"
The last words after a long day
Life finds its way, however unkind
Sometimes, I don't know how I'll find

My way to keep on standing
The forces that push me are demanding
That I be strong despite my tears
This is how it is in my living years

Edging off this world's surface
I see nothing much left to embrace
In a world filled with emptiness
There's not a lot for me to miss

The serpent offered temptation
As I chased after new sensations
Fooling myself with each deception
Suffered, and the truth found in connection

Clinging to what I want to still believe
I saw so many willing to deceive
Does this pass for our broken society
When so many practice the art of cruelty

Edging off this world's surface
I see nothing much left to embrace
In a world filled with emptiness
There's not a lot for me to miss
