Shape Shifting Ideologies
by Michael Doyle
In this age of putrid and flaccid philosophy
We have turned our faith away from mankind
Some feel AI is a better path than ideologies
In which undefined concepts are a forced bind
We bid the surface farewell and fall asunder
Knowing less about perfection than the blunders
That is our burden broken down into complexity
While we wish for anything that brings simplicity
All hail the glory of the simplest machine
Rejecting all binary but the ones and zeros dream
That all our answers are pitched as AI's capability
As we give up our souls to be ruled by technology
Shadows of what is coming are sold at a fever pitch
As the nerds and geeks find power comes with an itch
An itch that must be scratched to become satisfied
So long as there's an un-pushed button to be tried
We will remake the system on a trip to new freedom
Where there are cosmic hijinks lost in the kingdom
It's about trusting an allegedly impartial information
Decision without thinking on the source and formation
All hail the glory of the simplest machine
Rejecting all binary but the ones and zeros scheme
That all our answers are pitched as AI's capability
As we give up our souls to be ruled by technology
Given up because giving up shows the end doesn't matter
Life's serendipity is tossed against the wall and shatters
As the children learn only what they are told to read
We have forgotten that humanity is all that we really need
How have we come to trust in vaporware as if we aren't aware
That when conceptions aren't real we should always beware
There is no launch date for the miracles yet to come
And the emperor's new clothes are as naked as its kingdom
All hail the glory of the simplest machine
Rejecting all binary but the ones and zeros schemes
That all our answers are pitched as AI's capability
Will we really give up our souls to be ruled by technology?

Written In Blood and Sin
by Michael Doyle
In the ship's dark hull are whispered lies
As slaves and pirates stumble on alibis
Broken before the mast and the evil of eyes
The tales told don't matter in a sea of lies
These are believed in on the path to destruction
When we ignore the good book's instruction
All pirates know and it is deeply understood
That the path of Satan's lies leads to no good
A lie is a lie is a lie for those alive as strangers
To the dark side of mischief that leads to dangers
Each is ready to set the back streets on wildfire
If that's what it takes to quench their driven desire
Will it be mayhem or a swallow of wretched pride
That emerges at the door and into the other side
Decisions are made often to the price of us all
The story ends where pride takes its destined fall
Misdeeds grow by way of legendary disputation
Grown tall as the tales of a pirate's reputation
There will be no repentance nor sliver of hope
When a pirate's neck snaps at the end of rope
The crew awaits its further instruction
With no path out but assured destruction
There will be no mercy ever shown
In a pirate's life lived in parts unknown
But as sure as it is that loyalty is bound
It will be confronted off the shore of Nassau town
It's hard, if not impossible, to put trust in
Any pirate's oath written in his blood and sin
