Thought For the Day: A Great Book Should Leave You With Many Experiences, and Slightly Exhausted At the End. You Live Several Lives While Reading It

Red Light Kissing

Red Light Kissing
by Michael Doyle

Sometimes valid issues are had
Even true hearts can be sad
But the kiss of love is understanding
And be giving, not overly demanding

Each couple must without hesitation
Learn to appreciate the value of questions
There are many things of major concern
But life is too serious to fall into heartburn

Whatever the good or bad of reluctance
Every hazardous dilemma comes down to acceptance
We need the ability to get beyond the surface
It's the hearts of the matters that must embrace

It seems the true essence of being "good"
Is to feel in the soul that one is understood
Actions aligning with words measures integrity
Everyone knows integrity is an absolute for intimacy

It all comes down to the state of red light kissing
When each soul knows what it means to be missing
Each is staking their claims as best that they can
To prove the love within every woman and the best of man

Wrong words and actions can build walls of stone
Frozen out, left in doubt, and feeling completely alone
We somehow remain grateful for the truth of sunlight
It reveals everything that is hidden in our nights

Love brings an easiness into our moments of living
Two hearts are joined together to be loving and forgiving
In every experience that we care to live and to know
We find the intentions to learn and from this grow

In the state of living out God's most creative art
We find that we each hold the key to one another's hearts
We can lock it up and hide it away; or we can set it free
I'm okay either way, knowing that you are the one for me

Putting the Good In the Goodness

Putting the Good in the Goodness
by Michael Doyle

In the days of my life, I seek every day to learn
Knowing full well that there is much to discern
Seeking only to do my best to live the good life
I seek earnestly to put on peace and diminish strife

With each day that passes, I seek out God more
Knowing He works all ways for good serves to reassure
That in following His ways, I will find better days
And for that reason, if no other reason, I praise

His holy name is the best source of my true inspiration
Seeking His counsel before I set my soul on aspirations
In reading the Holy Word, I seek counsel and heed this
Knowing that the Lord's plans are plans of pure goodness

It's not that I fear the path of taking my good chances
I know God's hope and purpose is best in all circumstances
Trusting in the Lord, I find reliance on His sovereignty
Is always the best course in living life with true dignity

All this comes in reliance on God's constant consistency
Knowing that all comes out as it should removes uncertainty
Every moment of life is transformed according to God's plan -
Divinity works its wonders, truly as only God's divinity can

God's grace is the pillow on which I wish my head lay and rest
Always filled with expectation that doing this passes the tests
That life will bring as surely as today is followed by tomorrow
Following God's path is the surest joy in comfort and in sorrow

Cheap Candles Finding Gold

Cheap Candles Finding Gold
by Michael Doyle

Ask any Rabbi, and you're sure to find
A story or two to give sight to the blind
It's a whispered rumor illustrating the tale
Of how those with pride are sure to fall

Even cheap candles can illuminate gold
And so it is with many stories of old
It isn't as though it's much to orchestrate
But the truth told is seen best when we illustrate

The fact pattern sought is that those who hear
Are certain to draw on lessons from near
But seeing the truth of a mystic sort of mystery
That takes a set of eyes that can truly see

The creation of humanity might have been God's bad mood
When you think of the rest of creation on which we intrude
Other than tablets cobbled together out of ordinary stone
There are a lot of moments it when seems man is left all alone

Yet to point out absence brings God and ideals present
Although it is true, it's a presence that many resent
This may diminish hope, but it also says a little something
About how the universe banged itself out apparent nothing

It seems that the incomprehensible is, for most, exactly that
And so sages illustrate their pointing at the unnatural fact
With words that each of us must dig through all the solid rock
Just to find the point of that which is nothing but vague talk

Such truths pummel their way relentlessly against the wind
Shrilly clearing a path only to find the message has no friend
And those meant to receive this dream lost by the mind's window
Never comprehending all that they will surely ever, never know
