The Golden Ratio of Fibonacci

The Golden Ratio of Fibonacci
by Michael Doyle

The Fibonacci numbers aren't tragic
Indeed, these are a thing of constant magic
Leonardo of Pisa is a true figure of history
That revealed these numbers in their mystery

We ask ourselves questions to puzzle and learn
All these things we might together discern
For why numbers like five eight, poor thirteen
And through this joke, learn what it means

In all the numbered patterns, we may exercise
These riddles remain the driving force of the wise
Leapfrogging as our knowledge continues to grow
And in the end, there is a lot left yet to show

Nature reveals itself as a part of the sequence
That Fibonacci reveals to all and whence
It is that all becomes patterns to learn
And discover all that we might yet have to discern

Life is full of numerical questions and connections
However, we look in our diverse senses of direction
It becomes almost clear for all to somewhat plainly see
That numbers are part of the fable of life's mystery

When we look in the way of Fibonacci squares
We see that Fibonacci numbers are everywhere
There are disparate ways to see how patterns pervade
You cannot get away from the patterns that persuade

Evenly dived into thirds of numerical proportion
The patterns of evenness are clear without distortion
Those who travel the world with numbers on their mind
Come to know that they cannot leave Fibonacci behind

All this eventually leads to the Golden Ratio
Which appears to all, no matter where it is that we go
The numbers we play at seem very clear
But best of all, they are true forever

We don't just solve for x as we go along
But we determine why these numbers rightly belong
In doing this, we learn again to question why
This grand contemplation is summed up with a sigh

I Met A Lady One Day

I Met A Lady One Day
by Michael Doyle

I met a lady who knew all the ways of love
And she came into my day like a voice from above
I wondered what I might have to give her in her day
Having nothing special to add, I gave her my time anyway

She had a face that made me deeply smile
And the type of looks that didn't whisper denial
But made me wish and somehow made me dream
Wondering if touching her would be like a heavenly being

She took my hand, and as we walked
The more deeply we entwined and talked
Peeling back the layers, I found her fascinating
With each new thought beyond titillating

I wondered what it was that made me smile so
All the same, I have decided to give time with her a go
Maybe life comes down to something as simple as a smile
I guess I'll know the passing answer after a while

It seems to me that she has led quite a life
I wondered if she could picture becoming my wife
How tame that would be compared to where she had been
And if she would long at times for back then

Still, I knew if she was meaning her words for real
She was the type for which I could always feel
Her presence goes beyond the mere beauty seen
She'd easily be one of my favorite human beings

First Principles: Where An Excess of Power Prevails, Property of No Sort Is Duly Respect. No Man Is Safe In His Opinion, …Person,…Faculties… Or His Possessions

“As a man is said to have a right to his property, he may be equally said to have a property in his rights. Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. No man is safe in his opinions, his person, his faculties, or his possessions.” – James Madison (1792)

In Prayers for My Mother

In Prayers For My Mother
by Michael Doyle

My ex-wife recovers from surgery on this Mother's Day
I gave up the weekend she owed to show in some sort of way
That I wish her to recover and want my daughters to tend
To her over being paid back for another wrong on her end

As I spend this day alone, I find myself thinking about
All those things life has left in and what was left out
I wished when my mother knew her time was finished and done
That I might have pulled a miracle like some better son

Momma used to always make the time to pray
And stumbled into Jesus along her way
She wouldn't go to church because of things done
But she had a personal relationship with the Son

She taught me it was best to go and quietly pray
And to always keep the Lord present throughout my day
I've never known anyone more loving and brave
And she quietly taught me about the power that saves

I saw her go through a lot in her too-short a life
Keeping her grace despite life's struggle and strife
There were times she'd call on God to give her strength
And kept her composure and compassion throughout it's length

For those she encountered found just outside the door
She always showed love and compassion, sharing her more
Lord, how I miss my mother today, even though I know
That she's in Heaven spending time with you, I hope it shows

That her traces live on every day in her imperfect son
I look back with a tear and laugh at the things I've done
And on this Mother's Day, I go out looking at nature
As she had taught me and hope she'd be happy at how I matured

I find myself down the trail and pray on this Mothers Day
And hope I've done well with my precious daughters in my way
I still remember things momma said and the lessons she taught
And I live them my best, as she would have lovingly sought

As For Me and My House

As For Me and My House
by Michael Doyle

On Mother's Day, I have my inspiration,
Finding faith in every day's dedication
Like Joshua, I try to live brave
Following the ways of God until my grave

In every generation, the baton passes on
God will be with my children long after I'm gone
He is faithful in all many things He does
And I step out in faith, knowing His love, and because

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

Naturally, there is God present in the divine
I stand confident that my life serves to define
How, even in days of questioning and confusion
I will walk each day bravely, having no illusions

Great families are made on purpose and by design
Following the paths craved by believing in the divine
As we blaze down the road of life, we live our decisions
Knowing that our guiding light provides precision

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by the light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

Anchoring all of us are holding to God's ways
We know these purposes will better our coming days
Following scriptural lessons help us follow Him better
We know this vision will get us through together

Godly homes understand the symbols and speech
Shining the intentions of the Godly to all within reach
There in the environments that we allow to surround
We let our faith thrive and greatly abound

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

As parents, we must be careful not to seem oppressive
Instead, leaning on what influences and is impressive
To bring up young human beings filled up with respect
Being decent and carefully never allowing any neglect

It is there in our choices made every day
It is to live out the Truth in every way
God's word is living and highly interactive
Life is meant to be lived reflective not reactive

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

God's boundaries serve as necessary blessings
The connections given remove the need for guessing
It's okay to live a life of authenticity
Only so much as it is done through integrity

Life's challenges serve in and out of life's tests
We must live God's grace to live the best
This requires us to be anchored in our conscience
Keeping the Lord there and living in His presence

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

Acting Godly will weaken accusations by the adversary
And instead, strengthen the faithful to the contrary
These actions will show the faithful as easy to know
Our Father is best known by His grace that we show

The commitment to this is made knowing the cost
As we find our way toward God instead of being lost
Every day of joy is one filled with things that nurture
And when we follow this pat, it brings our best future

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for me and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

With Christ's birth, Joy was delivered and received
In a cosmic shift that prevailed against the deceived
Deeper and greater things were yet to come
These things kept our world leak-proof in the kingdom

In all of this we choose peace in all that we live
Peace with God, peace with ourselves, and peace we give
Through this transcending grace is received the light
That shines its purity to drive back the darkness of night

God has upheld His promises in every way
Leading by His light throughout my days
As for and my house, we'll serve the Lord
Holding scripture as our shield and sword

As children of God we are the bringers of peace
Through our paths, we'll bring the world's release
Each person finds their own sort of righteous day
The best lived lives follow God's holy ways
