Thought For the Day: If There Is Such A Thing As A Good Marriage, It Is Because It Resembles Friendship Rather Than Love

“If there is such a thing as a good marriage, it is because it resembles friendship rather than love.”-Michel de Montaigne

In Compromise

Padnora's Box -The Slow Decay of Broken Time
In Compromise
by Michael Doyle

The greatest gift that life can give
Is the true love that gives the will to live
In a compromise, we bargain what's possible
Never doubting the more of which we're capable

Those untroubled by the fires of burning love
Are destined to burn below, never finding above
Being without love is the biggest sin of all
It's a misdirected echo of what we cannot recall

Those we love are our own bits of paradise
The reason for reasons and we are best advised
To let our feelings of love be the signet that seals
It is the bargain of bargains that keeps life real

With love, we bring new life into this world
Filled with kicking feet and fists that are curled
We know beyond knowing that keeping our hearts tender
Is that part of life that we must never surrender

Love is the giving of life as it can be given
It creates the will where there is none for further living
Though we might face odds that are unbeatable
The protection and fight for life makes undefeatable

While others look on lost and feeling despair
Shrugging their shoulders at a world unfair
One believer, one brave soul can change it all
With cheers to Heaven, victory will be recalled

Some truths heal in their recounting and telling
As the pieces fall together in their revealing
Sometimes, we dare to run on wishes and dreams
Maybe it is that right is sometimes as easy as it seems

The price, however high, must always be paid
Despite the consequences, we must not be afraid
The morality tale always has the highest value
If we'd only do as we were meant by God to do

First Principles: To Preserve the Republican Form and Principles of Our Constitution and Cleave To the Salutary Distribution of Powers… Are the Two Sheet Anchors of Our Union

“To preserve the republican form and principles of our Constitution and cleave to the salutary distribution of powers which [the Constitution] has established … are the two sheet anchors of our Union. If driven from either, we shall be in danger of foundering.” – Thomas Jefferson (1823)

Notice again, we are not a “democracy”. We are a republic. Those who discuss our nation as a democracy are advocating for mob rule. The founders believed this to be a suicidal tendency in forms of government.

Thought For the Day: The Greatest Happiness of Life Is the Conviction That We Are Loved – Loved For Ourselves, Or Rather, Loved In Spite of Ourselves

“The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved — loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.” – Victor Hugo, novelist and dramatist (26 Feb 1802-1885)

Minding God’s Own Business

Isle of Pandasia - Heron On A Starry Night
Minding God's Own Business
by Michael Doyle

It's how it is that we should live
We find that God has work to give
In an echo of principles, we need clarity
Of what is necessary to enable us to see

To lack in clarity is an act of unkindness
That can only lead us to live in blindness
It is a trap that leads us to meet and exceed
As we are on the path to meeting this predicted need

The impulse of our God is to reach out and save
A fallen humanity from the depths of our graves
Following God's ethics removes life's dysfunction
And brings our sight and ways into corrected function

The Ten Commandments taught us the Godly ways
To lead our lives for God each and every day
Pulling us away from society's sick toxicity
Lifts the yoke of evil from us and sets us free

Boundaries are blessings to be followed in life
By following these rules, we lessen our strife
It takes simplified solutions to remove complications
It has been this way since the onset of creation

The margins of safety are set for our rest
This is the best way to meet our every test
Unlike Christ whose life was to carry our weight
And whose pace made ours a sustainable fate

We dancers dance best to the rhythm of our hearts
That's how we should all be from the living start
Exhausted people exaggerate how they're hurting
While God offers the way to decrease our lives' burden

In Jesus, we find our easy path and ability to rest
While Biblical verbs show the way to pass our tests
Marching out of our Egypt and into Godly freedom
We approach our closest to Christ by entering the kingdom

The heavy lifting in this heavenly relationship
Begins and ends with partaking in righteous worship
Come, take, and learn what there is to discern
Our salvation is given by grace and is not earned

As it is so easily and freely God's to be given
We find that each of us are righteously forgiven
Love for a lifetime is a matter of persistence
And is the sustainable path of God's least resistance

It was the snail's persistence that found the ark
It is in this way, we each make our own kind of mark
Life is not a hurried sprint but a sort of marathon
And in it, we find it's truly God that we all rely on

First Principles: Strive To Be the Greatest Man In Your Country, and You May Be Disappointed. Strive To Be the Best and You May Succeed

“Strive to be the greatest man in your country, and you may be disappointed. Strive to be the best and you may succeed: he may well win the race that runs by himself.” – Benjamin Franklin (1747)

Free From the Inside

Sanctuary - Softness At the Red Bridge Crossing
Free From the Inside
by Michael Doyle

Remembering when I was lost
Thankful for how you paid the cost
Getting me across the great divide
Setting me free from the inside

You took away my wretched pride
Setting me free from the inside
Three days blind until that day
The stone of darkness rolled away

My life was filled with hardness
As I stumbled in the darkness
Until you shined your loving light
You taught me wrong from right

Your blood gave me sight
Saving my life that night
Setting me free from the inside
And walking me back from my pride

As a son of the God most high
I lift my eyes to your holy sky
Knowing there's no limit to your good
Thanks to your love, it's understood
