The World Changes (Waiting On You)
by Michael Doyle
There's no doubt about it,
Whether we whisper or shout it.
It's always so good to be home,
Even when we're there alone.
You share your love among fans and friends,
Quietly or loudly until the music ends.
You wonder if they'll still love you tomorrow,
Will it be warm and tender love, or sorrow?
On the road, we were searching for that feeling,
The one that kept our hearts and heads reeling.
But it is always good to be home,
Even when we are there alone.
We let it go, we set the music free,
Knowing that, at worst, we just came to disagree.
We looked in every direction,
Looking for anyone left standing to show us affection.
It's like we never left, then it's alright,
As we play hearts of darkness in the spotlight.
Paralyzed with the growing change of seasons,
Life and music have their love and reasons.
On the road, we were searching for that feeling,
The one that kept our hearts and heads reeling.
But it is always good to be home,
Even when we are there alone.
Doesn't it make you wonder with warm desire,
About the crazy ways, we set the world on fire?
Only you know, I suppose, that I could never know,
We still have a lot of broken love to show.
We sometimes took more than we gave,
Dancing proudly on music's sweet grave.
Sad and deep as you are, it's just another song.
The truth is, maybe we played it for far too long.
On the road, we were searching for that feeling,
The one that kept our hearts and heads reeling.
But it is always good to be home,
Even when we are there alone.

Death Revealed Truths
by Michael Doyle
We don't get more real than with death.
The feeling of this stays until the last breath.
If you're not prepared to succumb and die,
We need to focus on the how and the why.
If you're not ready for the day that you die,
Then you're really not all that ready to live.
Let's turn our focus on that" how and why"
Let's not choke on the reply of what life has to give.
There is a huge gulf between us and Him.
There will be no greater than the them
Who have come before and where we will go
What will separate the flame from the shadow?
Life is a story of contrasts in what we see,
And all that comes and goes requires humility.
Contrasts in life and death - down to the last breath.
We find differences in life, even in how we face death.
No words or fixing can change our destiny.
From this, we learn the value of how we journey.
Doing right to others and worshipping the Lord,
It seems this then is the dividing sword.
To be at the bosom of Abraham is to have all,
Regardless of fame, shame, or whatever we might recall.
Heaven is where God waits for us makes it all right.
We know this as a walk from darkness into the light.
The glories of Heaven and the acquisition of Hell -
How we live and believe is what compels.
The outcome is down to what we do
To live by what is good and to live for what's true.
Whether we earn Heaven or Hell is a matter of equity.
It is our decisions that sets us at our liberty
That defines what our final outcome will be.
We are our own deliverers of our final destiny.
A fact is a fact, and Hell has no relief
For the causes of separation that bring grief.
Hell is a place of tormenting misery.
Hell-fires have burned throughout all history.
Memories are not forgotten and are known for their sting.
If you end up in Hell, you'll have what you bring
And you will remember your every opportunity
That you had to avoid suffering this self-inflicted injury.
In the moment of death comes the chasm of separation.
You must in this life address your final representation.
The cross of Calvary spread sanctuary from our misery.
This is steadfast in our theology.
It takes a lot of work to go to Hell.
If you have, maybe it's just as well,
And once you've managed to get yourself there,
Your chance at redemption is over, I fear.
It's been this way since Lucifer was falling,
That a person in need of saving finds Jesus calling.
We hold this hope based on the Bible's authority -
That our choices form our path to our destiny.

What To Make of Gifts
by Michael Doyle
The season is almost upon us for giving
Yearly, as it is, in an average living.
It has always been better to give than receive.
This much, to be certain, I truly believe.
The things of love, as best I conceive
Are what should be given with no intent to deceive.
Instead, we are to give from the heart,
And only so much that we can afford to depart.
The purpose of our life is to find our gifts
And to use these in the healing of all rifts.
That which brings together is that which is best.
Life is a happy collaboration more than a contest.
What the Lord gives to us is best given away
To the extent it exceeds the blessings of our days.
To live life with love and to be of purpose
Is the best life lived and is lived in God's service.
Our lives given are a privilege and our opportunity.
We are to respond to this within our responsibility.
Giving as we love, knowing to do less is not giving.
And always living through God's grace while forgiving
The wrongs and slights done by others with intention.
The best gift that we can give is that of loving attention.
It is in its appropriateness, and knowing the gift is true
That we know what we have given has its true value.
Living each moment of life in joy is shown by gratitude.
We live life best in striving to affect this attitude.
To bring about the greatest amount of true satisfaction,
Love and thankfulness must be expressed in our actions.
