“This habit of forming opinions, and acting upon them without evidence, is one of the most immoral habits of the mind. … As our opinions are the fathers of our actions, to be indifferent about the evidence of our opinions is to be indifferent about the consequences of our actions.” -James Mill, philosopher (6 Apr 1773-1836)
In the mystery of the sphinx Is the ancient mystery that links To secret rooms of love and wisdom It brings release like keys to the kingdom
Some are kept prisoner by this lure While others believe this is the cure In the end, it seems that we all die The way to glory is just another long goodbye
In the mirror, we look into our face If we're lucky, we've aged with grace Visitors come and go, easy as a rhyme Each of these is merely marking time
Rinse and repeat as we aim to cheat the Devil Keeping plumb with the square, we keep it level Until we really cannot tell where we are No matter how close to home; or if we've wandered far
Hope comes today and then again tomorrow While with distant shivers, we face our sorrow Shadows of our selves that we have once been And yet mere echoes of what is meant as human beings
There is one secret we know still yet remains true We each stay alive as long as the last person remembers you Drifting along free flowing as coded memory And in the end, this is the sphinx of lasting legacy
Death watches over us, gazing face to face While we, like goldfish in a bowl, pray for grace In the crumbs of dreams that aged all too well There's room enough in that for yet another tale
When we push to the depths in the cores of our heads More is the pity that some are better off dead Despite how we try to be ever more the clever None of us are meant to live on forever
We play the game all the way to the bone Until we each are buried under tombstone Though some would have fought to sit on throne In the end, we leave as we arrived, each alone
Riding hard into the flames of the last sunset To meet who it is that we have not yet met Unscathed as it were without a single lasting regret We lived to play with fire and we will each burn yet

“Knowledge Will Forever Govern Ignorance and A People Who Mean To Be Their Own Governors Must Arm Themselves With the Power Which Knowledge Gives. ” – James Madison
“High is our calling, Friend! Creative Art / (Whether the instrument of words she use, / Or pencil pregnant with ethereal hues,) / Demands the service of a mind and heart.” -William Wordsworth, poet (1770-1850)
Pushed buttons bring us to grief Frustrations from which we need relief We have but one Father, one God of creation Brothers and sisters sharing our one situation
We should then, treat one another As we are, sisters and brothers Equally held in fullest regard Not as a promise to disregard
Born of God, we must speak with love As each is a member of God's body above Better to be cheated ourselves than sue At least that's how it is in godly view
While we are living in full liberty There are ways not to follow in our sanctuary Doing wrong in abandoning the Lord Cuts deeper than being severed by a sword
We must honor our sacred Father's will For His holiness is solemnly revealed That our hearts belong to the Father above In true devotion, living out our Father's love
This is not something , we can fake But promises we must keep as we make We might fill the altars with our tears Yet, God is the witness to our living years
We belong to the God who has brought relationship So that we might know rightful worship Keeping our heads on swivel to keep life right Driving out the darkness by God's cherished light
The right move to make is toward God's direction Accepting the blessing of God's true correction Growing our gardens from the world's wasteland Returning to the forgiveness of following God's command

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” -Maya Angelou, poet (4 Apr 1928-2014)
In the face of your holiness I acknowledge my sin Knowing your faithfulness and depending on this Rolling like a stone from tomb again
All of my burdens, you carry In the reliance that you will not vary In accepting my contrition Despite the seriousness of my condition
When my soul needed a friend I found on your love, I could always depend Dropped balls and bad jokes come with a price But it'd be better still to follow Godly advice
The heart is what matters most And must be kept pure by heavenly host Keeping out the sins we cannot mask Leaked out across the generations taken to task
How can we walk instead in the ways of love Keeping the commands of our God up above We must keep in light and in fullest devotion Kept in faith and in truest emotion

“Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer…” – Thomas Paine
Heading out of Australia to escape this Aussie winter. First stop Japan, then UK/Ireland and if work doesn't call me back, onto Chicago. I will make it up as I go along
