Where Stars Collide

Where Stars Collide
by Michael Doyle

Some animals have an affinity.
It's as if they're part of the family.
Love, it's said, is a true heart's bond.
There's mutual respect, and there is beyond.

There are the many, and there are the few.
But those who get closest, bond to you.
It's the footprints in our hearts,
We feel most, and sometimes from the start.

The connection is often profound and unbreakable.
It's an essence of love and often unspeakable.
But to ride a horse is to ride the very sky.
There's something unshakable in this do-or-die.

I saw it in how my sister gently reined
Her horses that it was said that she trained.
It seemed more like a reaching of an understanding,
With neither side being overly demanding.

There was beauty and spirit filled with grace.
I watched the gentle nuzzle like a kind of embrace.
Remembrance of these moments is deeply emotional.
They taught me something of what we call devotional.

Not an hour was ever wasted in her riding in the saddle.
Remembering this helped me watch her nine-year battle.
Cancer came filling in the marrow of her bones,
But as long as she had old Blue, she was never alone.

Even now, after the passing of many years
My eyes too easily fill up with tears
That I hide away, faking being brave one more day.
I wonder what she and Blue would say if they could say.

Perhaps it matters less what it is that you know,
And maybe wisdom is a shade that's just for show.
What truly matters is how much you care.
It's care and love that pays the Stygian fare.

Old Blue was a sort of mirror to her beautiful soul.
Maybe that's why both responded without needing control.
There was the discipline of shared barrel racing,
And the sharpness of cattle cutting without much chasing.

Horses had taught her that strength doesn't need to roar.
It's an overwhelming gentleness that soars.
Somewhere up in Heaven, I'm sure that they still ride,
Out in the back forty, where stars collide.

The Cold Warmth of Economic Cruelty

The Cold Warmth of Economic Cruelty
by Michael Doyle

What is now happiness in its pursuit,
Was once the right to own property.
Democratic Socialism grows at the roots,
While voters forget the tie-in with prosperity.

It only needs a little patch of land
From which the people can make their stand
Against the failure of economies planned,
And to leave the People, not government, in command.

Everyone has the right to their own home,
A place of refuge to seek a sheltered position.
There's an absolute right to its protection.
It's there we make the stand to stand alone.

America stands at a crossroad in history.
We can die at the hands of collective socialism,
Pretending it is warmth, and not cruelty.
It is perhaps the cruelest path of ulterior pessimism.

The wrongness of a so-called enlightened path
Is the grandchild of duped nepotism.
The evidence of the philosophic ills of Marxian math
Is leading the way of loss found at the base of communism.

If they can take away private property,
It is as easy to take away our liberty.
Property is, after all, the distinction
That prevents freedom from being lost to extinction.

Anyone, the least politically capable,
Knows that liberty and property are inseparable.
It's simply a matter of common sense,
Failing to protect property causes tyranny to commence.

First Principles: A Government Which Lays Taxes On the People Not Required By Urgent Public Necessity and Sound Public Policy Is Not A Protector of Liberty, But An Instrument of Tyranny

“A government which lays taxes on the people not required by urgent public necessity and sound public policy is not a protector of liberty, but an instrument of tyranny. It condemns the citizen to servitude.” – Calvin Coolidge

The Mystery of the Three-In-One

The Mystery of the Three-In-One
by Michael Doyle

In a room full of sinners,
God meets us where we're at.
Turning us to become winners,
Here at Heaven's welcome mat.

The brush of Heaven is on my life.
It brings me peace, even in strife.
Walking every day with full attention,
I approach my faith with good intention.

There's a crowd of witnesses in the narrative.
Let us join together to run in the declarative.
The examples in the Bible serve us well.
There is merit in every tale we tell.

God is the paper life is written on.
The Holy Trinity is our Three-In-One.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost -
Each of these facets offers us the most.

The most that we'll ever find,
And the reason we've left our old ways behind.
It's a theology that we learn to grow in
As we move toward God and away from sin.

Matthew 3 presents this collectively,
With the triune God displayed fully.
It is in understanding the Trinity
That we come to understand our theology.

The Trinity is the grammar of the Gospel.
These are the rules of our language, as it tells.
From a spiritual walk toward nourishing truth,
It becomes revealed step by step in our spiritual youth.

God isn't a recipe but is revealed through relationship.
It is in our conversations with God that we truly worship.
It's a triangular view of our Christianity.
It comes as we are immersed in God's divinity.

Faith is not reason, but instead, divine revelation.
Awakened, we can walk the truth in explanation.
Hung into a fulfilling personal relationship,
This is the best of how we come to worship.

With open hands we approach our belief,
And from the Trinity, we gain holy relief.
The Trinity is the chord of our spirituality.
God is at its core, surrounded by harmony.

The Holy Spirit holds the truth of the mystery
Of what walked the crucifixion into history.
It gives us courage to boldly profess.
The Holy Spirit moves us to what we must confess.

With humility, we approach this conversation.
Moving forward toward our final destination,
We need all three components of our theology
As we come to fully embrace God's true divinity.

Thought For the Day: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost Are Three…Not In Condition, But In Degree; Not In Substance, But In Form; Not In Power, But In Aspect

“[T]he Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost [are] three … not in condition, but in degree; not in substance, but in form; not in power, but in aspect; yet of one substance, and of one condition, and of one power, inasmuch as He is one God, from whom these degrees and forms and aspects are reckoned, under the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” – Tertullian

First Principles: Since We Are Surrounded By Such A Great Cloud of Witnesses, Let Us Throw Off Everything That Hinders and the Sin That So Easily Entangles

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV

¡Viva Venezuela libre!

¡Viva Venezuela libre!
by Michael Doyle

American power has been put on display,
Concentrated on a dictator who came to play.
Law enforcement and military might
Landed to make our world more right.

Power, speed, and competence
Overcame instantaneously every hindrance.
Overwhelming without any American loss,
The US military was indisputably the boss.

Now we'll see a judicious transition
Keeping a successful handover as is our mission.
Venezuela will have its legitimate government,
And the life of its people will have enrichment.

The drugs and gangs will no longer flow.
Those who hate America will now know.
If you bring America heartbreak,
We will ensure that you know your mistakes.

We have returned America to our course,
By openly using the Monroe Doctrine in force.
This is a moment in our national security,
And we have acted for freedom's legacy.

In a precise and surgical military operation,
Law enforcement and warriors engaged in cooperation.
America First and legality have won the day,
And will bring back life, oil, and liberty taken away.
