To Simply Believe

Jewels Isle Romantic Secret Garden- The Romanis and the Frosties Strike A Pose
To Simply Believe
by Michael Doyle

The Square root of the possible
Of all that we can achieve
Is to have some gumption
And to simply believe

Throwing caution to the wind
Taking chances we defend
More on odds approximated
And guaranteed seldom as estimated

The magic isn't just in what's lost
Though it's hard with quite the cost
But, it is seeing the way to possibility
That we'd best find the best capability

Closed eyes under the mistletoe
Tells the truth of more than we know
Feeling the better of a shared smile
There are things in life that are worth while

Don't be afraid of your imagination
It starts the journey to our best destination
Unafraid of what your heart and mind see
Together we can make dreams into reality

We each have hearts that need to mend
And there's no telling how the story ends
But we choose to believe in believing again
This could bring the possible that heaven sends

Having only fear itself to fear
You and I just need to persevere
Making it work out in dedication
Formulating exactly the right calculation

The square root of the possible
Of all that we can conceive
Is to have the strength of which we're capable
And to simply... believe

Thought For the Day: There Are No Easy Answers…We Must Have the Courage To Do What We Know Is Morally Right

“There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. … You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.” – Ronald Reagan

First Principles: The Crisis Is Arrived When We Must Assert Our Rights or Submit To Every Imposition That Can Be Heaped Upon Us, Until Custom and Use Shall Make Us As Tame and Abject Slaves

“The crisis is arrived when we must assert our rights, or submit to every imposition, that can be heaped upon us, till custom and use shall make us as tame and abject slaves.” – George Washington (1774)

For Bill of Rights Day

One Billion Rising Rising Park - What of the Rights of the Unborn Daughter?
For Bill of Rights Day
by Michael Doyle

To embark on teaching history of the past
Engages us with the things that last
The best way of doing this of course
Is to teach things right from the source

Before going further, let me just say
Happy and best of Bill of Rights Day
It's truly no real kind of mystery
Just how much it is we can learn from history

One of the most needed lessons of liberty
Is that only limited government prevents tyranny
Civilly but civically, we must turn to reason
Together under rule of law and not allow treason

It's a marvel of the greatest assertion
That beauty of design of our great nation
It's the raised hand of participations first light
That shines like a beacon in the world's dark night

To enlighten others requires great civic virtue
And being civil in all that we say and do
We must politely assert our candid bill of rights
And each of us act as pillars of truth and light

If we want to rebuild the best of our great nation
We'll start with focus and insist on decent education
It does indeed begin with an patient knowing of history
To prevent those of ignorance to lead to tyranny

Our place is firmly, politely in the public square
Presenting our viewpoints clearly when and where
Engaging is needed in debate of our nation's policy
To quash dreaded tyranny and focus on keeping our liberty

Fundamental to our nation is both faith and family
And keeping close to the lessons of our history
We must join together to take our stand
This is more than paramount, I hope you understand

A Christmas Heart

Christmas Under One Star
A Christmas Heart
by Michael Doyle

On a forge borne of magic
The Star of Bethlehem
Can be harnessed with love
A Christmas heart wipes away the tragic
Only in the way an elf understands
Led as these are from up above

When times are getting hard
And you could not be more low
Stop thinking and instead feel from your heart
Christmas spirit is the wild card
To move beyond what you think you know
Just keep being a true believer as from the start

It's going to take a miracle to see
To find our way back to home
But the spirit of Christmas will save the day
Making it real and not just a fantasy
Finding company imagined by the hearthstone
Where believing hearts will always find their way

Believe, just dare again to believe
To feel, to dream and then to conceive
Requires listening from the heart as we shall
Always and forever and to never deceive
But to always live for hope and believe
Is the moral to our great and needed tale

First Principles: A Feeble Executive Implies A Feeble Execution of the Government

“A feeble executive implies a feeble execution of the government. A feeble execution is but another phrase for a bad execution; and a government ill executed, whatever may be its theory, must be, in practice, a bad government.” – Alexander Hamilton (1788)

In the Precedent of 2020

Cheri Noel Revisited -Wished Upon A Falling Star II
In the Precedent of 2020
by Michael Doyle

There is something set
Quietly there in the precedent
An unlikely principle we forget
That we'd not be without accident

Who it is that we are today
I hope that's not too flippant to say
That despite our efforts to the contrary
We can do little about the necessary

Acceptance of life's unpredictability
That pops up time and again with intimacy
The tried patience of a saint knows familiarity
In the obsessive order found so contemporary

Within a world otherwise completely out of order
There at the sheer edge of sanity's very border
Enforced isolation has us window shopping in reverse
To afraid of contagion to dare to simply converse

There in this beautiful fantastic detail
We find noisiness as we hold very still
Wishing for answers we're unsure we'll find
Caught up in the tired and tawdry of our minds

Pan flute notes scatter on the wind
As notes in bottles we're afraid to send
Storms come and go causing us to tremble
All for the sake of teaching us not to crumble

It's just another itch, we've yet to scratch
As we reach out to define our family tree's branch
Hoping not to cherry pick our own reality
We'll pledge to one another the madness of fealty

Popping the pills that doctors swear will heal
But with heads in books, they can't conceal
That what is wrong with the world is beyond cure
Though we dare not whisper this as it's too impure

Perhaps it is true that a little tea and sympathy
Find their way to straighten every tragedy
May these then be the ingredients to let in light
Because in the end, we need to find our way to right
