To Be Is To More Than Think

To say what it is that has to be said
We are more than we've ever thought
Experience is more than just in our heads
We must realize this if truth is sought

On the surface, we believe Descartes said
He existed simply because he could think
And while the philosopher is quietly dead
The pages that followed are what we must drink

Drink in deeply if we wish to fully understand
That Descartes' argument provided proof of God
Because to think requires that ability at your command
This ability given to us by God, even if put rather odd

He was right in saying we should not fear to question
And that our thoughts should be thought without hesitation
Then once thought we should give them all due deliberation
Keeping the good of others and belief in God in our consideration
