Southern Nights
by Michael Romani

Somewhere in that Southern night
Out beyond the veil of misty rain
There shines the shimmering light

Underneath the streetlight down the lane
Your sweet memories are found complete
Without a need to ever stop and explain

The shuffling sound of the boogity beat
Rises to the reasons that I cannot supply
Somewhere down that Southern street

The love of a Southern girl is hard to deny
Then again, why would a gentleman ever try
