Creekside Bridge

There is a lot of beauty to be found in Second Life.  I spend a lot of time photographing it. it.  In my real life, my ex-wife destroyed over 14,000 photographs as we divorced.  It’s a shame.  But, it is what it is.  She also destroyed my camera equipment.  That is also just how it is.

What it left me with though was a love of photography still and a wish that I might somehow continue having that hobby.  Just before I got extremely ill, a group of friends pulled me into a computer game/virtual reality environment called Second Life.  The idea had been that I would perform live music there.  Just a couple of weeks later, I was in ICU for eight days.

I lived but my vocal range is now so much more limited than it was.  At least oxygen will now adhere to my red blood cells.  So, I am blessed.  I made it through to the other side.  They tell me that I am now in remission.  There are days though, like today when I wake up feeling like some part inside of me is so painful that I can’t quit get started.

So, I took me a  walk in Second Life in a nature park sort of setting like I would have hiked and photographed in real just a few years ago.  And I did just that.  Photographed and looked at how beautiful the world can be if we’re willing to see it.

It’s an inflammatory thing.  I don’t quite get it.  But, the pain is over.  So, I guess I’ll make some breakfast now.  Thought that I’d share a photograph from the walk.  If you click on the Flickr photos you can see my little experimentations with something called windlights and beautiful place I spent my waiting for my side to stop feeling like it was caving in from the inside out.

Life is what we make of it.  God gave us the ability to focus on what we want.  To me, it will always be beauty, love, dreams and the noble things that I will always live for until my last breath.  Not to be overly dramatic on that last bit.  I plan on finding my way meandering through life until at least my little princesses are grown up and happily going about their own lives.   So, maybe I’ll set my sights on 120 and see how it goes from there?

Enough rambling for now, right? The main point I had intended to express is that there is a lot of beauty in both worlds.  I have something like 14,100 or so photographs on that one Flickr account.  Hopefully, some of these are nice enough to enjoy by others?
