First Principles: Freedom Is Kept Through Virtue and Knowledge

“If Virtue & Knowledge are diffus’d among the People, they will never be enslav’d. This will be their great Security.”  – Samuel Adams, in a Letter to James Warren (February 12, 1779)

That is perhaps the striking oddity of so much today.  We have a free flow of information.  Maybe too much information?  Whatever the cause, we seem to flinging ourselves further and further along the road to global serfdom instead of freedom to the point where when voices speak up for true knowledge and wisdom such as found in classical liberalism, it is called fascism.  Maybe it is that there is too much disinformation and double speak for a lot of people to get when they’re being duped?
