With a honk, I hear the geese
As they fly off in their release
The cool winter breezes
Gives me a sight that pleases
As I watch them in flight
Seeking their rest for the night
It’s a familiar sort of sight
Watching the geese take flight
The stay through the winter’s cold
Honking at intruders as they scold
Telling us we are too close to their nest
Warning us that they are in need of rest
Some say this makes them into a pest
I smile and remind them, we are their guests
