Darkness abounds for a lot of returning Veterans. The sad, sad truth is that more Veterans have died from self infliction than on the battle fields since 9/11. Think on that, please. I don’t care about your politics really. If you see a Veteran whether struggling or seemingly happy reach out. Tell them that you appreciate them if you do. Or, please at least show some respect? In this age of all volunteer forces, most of us put ourselves on the line out of love for God, country and our fellow humanity. Please keep that in mind.
Dark Voices by Michael Romani Dark voices from deep inside They've started whispering again Certain that this time I will win But, these voices are calling again Horrified by what I see The darkness creeping up inside of me I lose any hope of dignity As the bleakness pushes me to my knees The ugliness blocks the light I have promised that I will fight Sinking low at this sight Slinking into this dark night Tears roll down on my cheek Voices asking why I won't speak It seems my soul has sprung a leak Cobbled in these chains at my peak (c) November 18, 2017 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
