The English progressive rock supergroup , Emerson, Lake & Palmer formed in 1970. The band consisted of Keith Emerson on keys, Greg Lake as singer and bassist and percussionist Carl Palmer. With 48 million records sold world wide, they were one of the world’s most popular and commercially successful progressive rock groups in the 1970s. The band’s performance was dominated by a mix of Emerson’s adaptions of classical music with jazz and symphonic rock elements and Lake’s acoustic guitar songs.
Brain Salad Surgery is the fourth studio album by ELP and was released on November 19, 1973. This was released on the band’s own label, Manticore Records. These technically obsessed geeks in artist clothing pulled off a masterpiece fusion of carnival sounding rock and classical fusion.
