Mieville's World Winter Festival - Frosted Fountain

by Michael Romani

Children laugh and play
The singing Christmas tree
Seems to make their day
One complete in their gaiety

As life goes on as always
In all its snow dusted days
There on this Christmas eve
Are the poor souls seeking to believe

An ornamental angel hangs on the sill
Put there hoping just for once to feel
More than we will ever know
There is a real behind the constant show

All the songs that we sing
Make heaven's bells ring
If only we would listen
Would it help the snow to glisten?
