Oh, I get it and see how life seems in the darkness
Filled with worrisome fear and a lot of harshness
But, don’t let that be all that you see of the wondrous
Life, especially new born life, I nothing short of miraculous
I took myself a walk through snowy path of wood
Intending to enjoy the rush of silence if maybe I could
When next to the path I found a fawn just born
The clouds in my life evaporated and no longer forlorn
I found my face painted with the easiest of smiles
The type of a smile that seems to lift the weariness of miles
Looking about, I spied the mother looking on trepidatiously
At this intruder, me, who seemed to have stumbled so nosily
I walked on quietly not touching this scene of ethereal beauty
And nodded at the doe that all was well as was my loving duty
