I  want to state clearly but not so nearly

Just clearly enough about what I hold dearly

I have my reservation as how this is leaning

It will take a lot of work before it’s redeeming

However, it certainly seems to a man like me

We have to walk back from all this polarity

There is too much jockeying of each extreme

And it seems to me this is destroying our dream

Republics are best suited for simple toleration

Mob rule only serves to tear down the best nations

Shared truth helps to weed out the worse lies

It at least leaves us a path to sacred compromise

It is essential that we walk these roads together

Without this things can never, ever get better
