Remembering back to the days

When I found peace in your eyes

Thinking back on your ways

It was always so easy to sympathize

Learning about love from our first smile

Walking hand in hand for many miles

Our love grew, growing from kiss to kiss

When apart, I knew who it was that I missed

Now, in the space of a couple of years

Those smiles faded turning to tears

Remembering when we would take shelter

From the cold of winter and summer swelter

And while those days have now ended
