The Na/GloPoWriMo Day 13 challenge is to stand clichés on their heads and still make poetry out of the mess.
In A New Day's Saying by Michael Romani Like an old man in the well conformed barrens He was beginning to sort out his nonsense Certain she couldn't look better than a proud harlot Another year costs a piggy full of pennies It was a single of duplicity caught up in a king's payout The aurora borealis may the shade light as day Life had become hard as a hardened crust The best he had were just few hints of the death On which he put his foot down hard as steel He was as unhappy as a shellfish poisoned Life had become an unfrosted portion of a slice Shorting circuiting the walk in his fading memory His face having become like a flock of gulls in flight Incessantly braying with the ease of ill intent He had spent his life paying his last coins out (c) April 13, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
