It’s just one of things that all parents know
The joy and the wonder that our babies bestow
As we lead and we reach and teach them
From the highest height to the lowest grass stem
We love them, we feed them, we need them
Nearly as much as they need and then
We know that one day we have to let go
Left with our memories that God does bestow
If we have done right, we know we have brought light
But always and forever, they are precious to our sight
Even when as we watch other parents with their babies
Raising them up right to be gentlemen and ladies
It’s just one of those things we will always share
And as every parents tells it, our souls are laid bare
