There’s a thin line between thunder
And the lightning that strikes, she thought
Between the water that pulls you under
And the gasping breath reached for and sought
There’s a thin line between love and what’s mine
Selfishness and desire want the same valentine
Just maybe differently, in differing ways
Sometimes alternating, depending on days
There’s a thin line and it makes me stumble
In distinguishing between a mumble and a grumble
I wish I could always somehow manage that right
But the difference between can be who is uptight
What there isn’t any such thin line to is loving my family
And that I do fully and quite happily…
